   What Is Architecture?
  Introduction

These Architecture Pages exist as a place for me to collect some thoughts on software architecture. Some of the ideas here are my own, others are borrowed or were "well known" before I got here. The act of putting the site together helps me get things straight in my own head. I hope reading it may help others. Please get in touch if you'd like to contribute, take shots or whatever this inspires in you. Your comments, suggestions, questions, etc. are invited.

See the Java Pages for discussions of object oriented patterns and principles and other things architects bring to the project table.

There are no "under construction" graphics here, but understand that all of these pages are in a near-constant state of flux. I am working on an organization to contain a lot of information other than this supposedly sequential set of pages... maybe a freer Wiki style. There will be more detail to come on nearly every topic and more links to other sources when I drop names. Drop me a note if you'd like to participate. Thanks!

By the way - So far this site looks a lot better in Internet Explorer than in Netscape Navigator. Browser compatibility is on my list, but not before the content.
