On The Web
"Knowledge is power", it is often said. Knowledge of the web world is the power to control your own fate. Here we tell you how to get your message out to the world and avoid false starts and money pits. Process My background is the corporate world where software projects have budgets in the millions of dollars. With that kind of investment (and expected return on investment) we get very interested in the "process" that leads to success. We carefully define steps and checkpoints to minimize the odds of failure and maximize the odds of a happy customer. The web world is more "seat of the pants" with an emphasis on speed and visual sizzle, but many of the process principles still apply. The more complex your goals and your web site, the more process matters. These pages touch parts of the process, but don't quite cover my 22 years of experience (grin.) Visit WebMonkey for a great tutorial on web-style process by John Shiple. Web Site "Moving Parts" The following sections cover the essentials. Each section is short and to the point, and the last one ties things together.
